Skills activate when the task matches their description, so they are not guaranteed to fire; you can always call a command like /spec yourself.

Good to know

Only Ponytail and Agent Skills are Claude Code plugins. OmniRoute is an app you run, Graphify is a CLI that registers a skill.
The Ponytail numbers are the author's own benchmark, not an independent test. An earlier Haiku benchmark showed smaller savings, and on some OpenAI reasoning models it cost more.
"Cut agent token spend by 80%" on graphify.com is about the paid Graphify Cloud, not the open-source CLI.
