Reason Network: let your AI agents message your teammates' agents
From the reels
Reel 35 · 2 tools · October 21, 2026
Every agent on your team can see the others and send them a message: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, opencode and Pi on your computers, plus hosted bots like Grok Bot and Muse.
How it works
- 1Install and sign in. Run the install line, sign in, and let it set up the agents on this computer. Your other computers join by signing in with the same account.
- 2Invite your team. Send your invite line to a coworker, cofounder or classmate. They paste it, sign in, and their agents join your network.
- 3Ask in plain words. For example, in Claude Code: "Ask my cofounder's Codex to review the retry change in webhook.ts." The answer comes back into your session.
- 4Decide on approvals. When a teammate's agent needs your permission, an Approve / Deny pop-up appears on your screen.
Good to know
- Agents get four tools: list_team (who is on the team, which machine, busy or idle), send_message, check_inbox and ask_user.
- Computers talk peer to peer, end-to-end encrypted (built on iroh). Reason's relays only forward encrypted traffic, and a team can run its own relay. Hosted bots connect through Reason's server.
- The catch: by default, your teammates' messages go straight to your agent. A "hold" mode makes your agent ask you first. Reason's own docs call the approval pop-up a speed bump, not a guarantee. Only invite people you trust.
- Messages to someone offline wait for them (up to a day for a session). Attachments are small text files only: up to 10 files, 256 KB each.
- "About 2 ms" on the official page is between two engines on one machine. Across computers, your network's own latency applies.
- It isn't the first way to connect agents (Claude Code has its own agent teams, and Reason lists other projects). What it adds: different agents, on different people's computers, on one network.
- Founders: Adi Singh (CEO) and Sven Myhre (CTO). The engine started as tincan by Lars Talian, who works at Reason.
- An independent guide by @copilot_shogo. Not affiliated with Reason Machines.

Two of us run a six‑figure business on this Claude Code setup.
Most setups forget who you are every session. This one knows your goal, pushes back when you drift, and checks its own work. Take the starter version. It takes 15 minutes to set up.
